Fantastic thread. For historical concerts, I'd go w/Live Aid and The Freddy Mercury Tribute in '92. For individual acts, I always regret not seeing Tom Petty. I've been fortunate to see Springsteen a few times but I'd love to see one of his classic late '70s shows.

Petty was one of those “Oh, I’ll see him next time he’s in town” guys, and then…

Bingo. He played the NY area the summer before he died.

One of my best bud’s mom went to high school with the three main members of Alabama. She hasn’t said anything negative about them but has noted they always had a real high opinion of themselves.

Yeah. I’m happy I saw Tom Petty a few times, but it was years ago. I kept saying I was going again and regret not following up through.

I had tickets to see James Brown for the first time but he died a few weeks before the show.

As for the (great) topic: Live Aid 1985 woulda been fun to be at. And a Beatles show, though maybe not Shea because I don’t think you could actually hear them.

I think any of the Beatles shows would have had that problem. That’s why by the time of their U.S. tours, they just blasted through 30 to 35 minutes of music, into a tidal wave of ear piercing screams, then got the hell out of dodge.

Oddly, I’ve seen them both… but only as opening acts.

I saw Pearl Jam going second or third on the bill at Lollapalooza in 1992. Everyone was there to see them though. It was just as they were becoming the biggest band in the world...pretty cool to be there at that moment in time.
