We have a church here in Nashville, Cornerstone, that was founded by Maury Davis. As a Christian, I struggle with Jesus' command to not judge others where this person is concerned. (Matthew 7:1)

Davis claims to have owned his sin and repented. His church has done a lot of good that I have seen firsthand on the ground here in Tennessee. Still, the question nags: What if he'd killed my mother? Would I be wrestling with the same set of questions? Should that man in Texas just let it go? That's not for me to decide.

As for Moore, The Bible is pretty clear about advocating for the wellbeing of children. (Proverbs 31:8)

Not sure I'd try to play the curious, skeptical "journalist" card, then describe the permanent inflexibility of your thinking.

The former Boy Scouts of America just emerged from the bankruptcy they entered in order to pay billions in restitution to all of the kids who were raped on its watch.

Were all of those plaintiffs also lying liars who only cared about money, or nah?

First Baptist Dallas, in downtown Dallas and built in 1890, has been destroyed by a massive fire.

My church had to rebuild its sanctuary after a fire a generation before I go there. Even now it is a very emotional subject for our older members who were around then. I wouldn’t wish such horror on any congregation.

The church in Dallas built a new campus in 2013, but the old sanctuary still had historic value and was still being used for weddings and other events.

Do I really want to go to seminary? In Tennessee?
