The only breaks the Braves seem to get with injuries are bones. Maybe. Austin Riley took a fastball off his right hand in the top of the first. He stayed in to run the bases, then was pulled. X-rays taken after the game were "inconclusive." That doesn't sound promising.

6 teams within 1 game of having the best record.
Expand that to 5 games and you have 11 teams.

Manfred is an idiot and has ruined baseball.

The Little League Classic is a very cool thing.

The best thing about this Little League Classic is absolutely everyone associated with the Yankees*** having to grit their teeth and act nice and pretend they like to interact with people. This must be dreadful for the ogres who run their security.

***except Chisholm & maybe Soto, who seem to be authentically fun people

I like that ESPN isn’t using the strike box. Too much broadcasting is based on that box.

I especially loved the fact that ESPN crew had to stop hyping (not the word I originally put here, it was way more X-rated) the Yankees when they suddenly noticed New York didn't actually win the game tonight.

I'm going to denounce myself before I get started.

Anyways, I didn't watch a minute of the Little League stuff yesterday, because I knew they were going to spend 75 percent of the time watching the players be cute around the major leaguers. Sure, it's great and all for the kids. As a viewer, I wasn't going to watch 10 hours of it.

They were never this lost. I'd argue there was a time (albeit brief) when they were more interesting than the Dodgers.

On this day, 42 years ago, Pascual Perez had his infamous commute to Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.

Perimeter Perez! I thought about him every time I tried to dodge the right lane rockets on my way to Hartsfield on I-85.
