"As a journalist at McClatchy, you will join a supportive, flexible, collaborative team. McClatchy strives to be an employer of choice, and our benefits package is made with this goal in mind. With a focus on health, well-being, wealth and daily life, our package options include healthcare coverage for employees and their families, financial protection from expected and unexpected expenses, multiple no-cost wellness resources and even coverage for four-legged friends. "

To quote Vinny Gambini/Joe Pesci, "Everything that guy just said was bullshit ... Thank you."

You'll have the ability to write a Pulitzer-worthy story and have someone in Gurugram, India, spell the owner's name "Gerry Johns" in the print headline . . .

Like some companies do with health coverage if you're already covered by a spouse's employer, if you don't have a pet can you decline coverage and get a little bit of money in return? Ya know, for their focus on wealth.

Speaks volumes that there are SCORES of former Cowboys beat writers on the sidelines in the last 20 years and the Startlegram has to solicit bids like a podunk county government.
