Played Keswick outside of Charlottesville this morning. Have been calling in favors for my golf staycation, and this was the crown jewel. Place was simply immaculate. 60 degrees and glorious sun when I teed off. And what I figured out on the 3W/hybrid swing on the back nine Monday carried over. It was simply playing the ball too far forward. Gave myself a lot par chances today and converted a few.

It is amazing how one little tweak in the process can suddenly solve an issue that seems frustratingly elusive. I sometimes get into a bad habit of swaying on the backswing and don't realize it until my playing partner mentions it.

So our club has a Wednesday Night league night.
Tonight was our annual last night scramble…..Food down at the local bar is paid for. You buy your own beer. Guy hits a hole in one. This would be the absolute worst night of our golf year to hit one.
Figuring that’s going to be a $5-600 golf shot.

Ward Clayton would be a pretty good pick. He's been in Augusta forever. Although we used to pick on him at the Durham Herald-Sun for stating the obvious when not hearing other conversations about the same topic.

    "Thanks, Ward!"

They'll hire a golf-mad librarian/museum curator, given the historic preservation needs and all, but they'll still get a ton of resumes from guys who covered Masters and fans who can name every winner.
