    Styles make fights. They didn't lose because they were grownups. McCain ran into a buzzsaw and Romney was the wrong candidate at the wrong time.

    Bit harsh.

    If Alma meant the party apparatus, he's right. They didn't want him, but they all fell into line and didn't stand up for any their so-called principles when it became apparent he could win in 2016. They also did nothing to blunt him early on when they still could, because they feared he would go independent and destroy their chances to win.

    If Alma meant the GOP electorate in 2016, he's obviously dead wrong.
