this is stirring up fond memories of the Journey-jack of the politics thread the day Biden’s win was announced.

 

I was trying to imagine how much of what is going on in Chicago would have happened if Biden were the nominee. The DJ-led roll call? How many of the speakers would have had/found "something else that is keeping them home," how many celebrities were "booked." Either they whipped everything together in the last month, or they had plans for a lot of this and perhaps Biden advisors said "Nah."
With the "old guard" leaving the stage, imagine what these conventions will look like now that people realize they don't have to be boring. People thought the Dems doing the Macarena showed how "with it" they were back in the day.
