I posted the piece because it relates to the 2024 election, and Gen Z men leaning Trump despite considerable policy disagreements.

The "I'm tired of this race/religion/sexual orientation/gender" posts are derivative of intersectionality theory, which is now part of the sociopolitical air we breathe. My contention is that intersectionality, as a critique, may have some purpose, but, as a political theory, eventually points to some communal/socialist reset.

And yet, the "man's man" is a recurrent theme of the American right. Hmm.

We’ve always been a country more concerned with braun than brains. Football was invented because manly men thought young men might become soft.

I think the USA has done OK on the intellectual front over the centuries. Pretty innovative overall.

DC pundits: fact-checking Trump won't work because voters think all politicians are liars!

Joe DiMaggio and Rob Deer both struck out....thus the one who did it way more often is the equal of the other. Thanks passive punks!

I'm not perhaps the right person for this discussion but when attending school more than 50 years ago, females are not allowed to take wood shop, metal shop or auto shop and were rarely accepted into upper level math and science programs in high school. Instead, they had six possible options after graduation: homemaker, secretary, flight attendant, cosmetology, teaching or nursing. This was 1970.

It was a big deal over the next decade for women and mnorities to make inroads into male-dominated fields and be taken seriously, like science, technology, medicine, mathematics, economics, communications and many others. One of the things I pride myself on during my career was trying my best to give equal opportunities to talented young women and minorities who might not have had the same chance as a white male to get into the industry.

I was lucky enough to hire Vicky Moore for her first radio job, who went on to be a morning news anchor at KNX in Los Angeles. I was hired by C. Jemal Horton in Rocky Mount, who went on to work in Macon, Indianapolis and Washington. I hired C.L. Brown out of college, who has been back and forth between Louisville and ESPN.

They got the job not because of a quota, but because I saw potential in them. They proved me right. I also hired a lot of white males who went on to do well, too.

This month, I've been operated on by a woman thyroid surgeon who was refered to me by a woman endocrinologist. My dentist is a woman. My stock broker is a woman. They're extremely talented at what they do, and worked hard to get there. I'm going to postulate probably harder than if they were white and male.

For centuries, the world has been run by Caucasians with XY chromosomes, and pretty damn poorly, I might add. If a Black woman gets elected to the highest position in this county, she damn well can't do any worse than the men who preceded her.

If we're holding women and people of color back, we're doing a major disservice to ourselves. It's the six inches between your ears that should matter most, and brain cells don't discriminate.

It helps when you win a world war and bring over 1,600 scientists from the country you defeated.

My doctor is a woman and close personal friend. I was in her wedding, on the groom's side. I literally put my life in her hands. We chuckle about some of the exams she has given me and questions she asks. My life isn't the only thing that 's ever been in her hands.
Her husband is one of my closest friends. I give him crap all the time.
"You know what (your wife) did to me?"
    "Oh, shut up."

Ken from the Barbie movie to a woman in a hospital: Can I talk to a doctor?
