Oh, and also whoever ate another brand of deli meat this was cut on the same slicer afterwards, because cross-contamination does not care about the invisible hand slapping only those who deserve it.

Not to be pedantic, brother, but Jefferson's historic quote - which was in fact a deli order - is

"the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the liverwurst of patriots & tyrants. Me too. On rye, but not too much onion. I have a meeting with Monroe after lunch. And an egg cream."

I’d say cheaper sandwiches but Boar’s Head is way too expensive.

How does bus fare jumping work? Don’t you have to scan in front of a driver?

The new generation buses have three doors.

One is meant to get a ticket from a machine at the bus stop; or tap a credit card at the onboard reader; or swipe a Metrocard at the front door, as before.

You can enter any door, rather than waiting in a long line to board at the front. It's meant to speed things up.

But with scores of riders coming and going entirely on the honor system, it created some real chaos even before covid. People weren't used to it.

It's the norm in most of urban Europe I think.

For the last three months or so, enforcement teams have been getting on and off the buses at random here, fining farejumpers and kicking them off.

Not sure how much good it will do.

I'm eager to see who will challenge Hochul in the primary. At this point, I'm a single-issue voter, and it's against her for the congestion pricing pause.

The numbers are fake except when they support my point of view.
