You might be right. I'm sure she's a bit leery, given the recent attack plot in Vienna for which multiple suspects were arrested, and the concerts cancelled.

But, oh, how I wish she'd spoken/sang at the Democratic National Convention.

 

Or that people who want to vote for him would care, even if he did do that.

 

She shouldn't worry. He won't actually say anything.

 

The Vienna plotters were ISIS, right? I can't imagine she sells many downloads in that demographic.

I stopped myself, but I almost did it. I almost engaged in a fucking Facebook post by an evangelical pastor who posted something like, "Don't vote for child murder". And I almost said, Yes, don't. But do vote for the guy who cheated on each of his three wives, including with a porn star while his wife was home after giving birth. And vote for the guy who has been found in court to have sexually assaulted women. Vote for the guy who says, "You can grab them by the pussy." Please vote for that guy.

But I didn't.

Hope I don't see his post on my feed again. Not sure I could hold back a second time.

 

My cousin works for an HR software startup. It offers a comprehensive overview of things from the cost of hiring employees to salary comps. He told me some clients don't want any information regarding the racial makeup of their staff.

 

I'm not sure the demographic matters. From what I read from multiple sources over that week, she was very genuinely shaken, shocked and disturbed about the whole thing -- like real, senseless, hate-driven violence was something that had never occurred to her with regard to any of her events. I could see her being, um, gun-shy, as far as even doing any more concerts for a while. I really do think the best-case scenario would've been if she'd made an appearance at the convention.

Before I say anything more, let me preface that I completely agree with you ... philosophically and in every other aspect.

The problem is that the evangelicals are so overjoyed that Roe v. Wade was overturned that the massive blind spots are being ignored. It's dumb - and I don't agree with it, either – but they are convinced that because he put the right people in place to crack down on abortion at any and all costs that they will back him unconditionally.

Of course they have zero understanding of the facts and of the bigger picture. What else is new?
