    Our games might be on Wednesdays and we lose all our good players to the NIL, but damn if it isn’t fun to root for the MAC. A bunch of guys who really just want to play. You saw it in the postgame interview.

    Normally, I rejoice when the holier-than-thou teams like Michigan and Notre Dame lose.
    But last week I saw a lookback at the year when No. 1 USC wasn't allowed to play in the championship game. Its strength of schedule component dropped it to No. 3 in the computer ranking when ND lost its final game and fell to 7-5. Trojans were No. 1 in the AP poll but the coaches were bound to the BCS computer. The Trojans play both Michigan and Notre Dame this season.

    Well, the Hawkeyes deserve this defeat. Should have had TDs instead of first-and-goal FGs in the first half.

    Totally outplayed by the Cyclones in the second half.
