Good Monday poll for the radio shows. Most underwhelming new starting QB?

    Nix
    Cousins

He's working from behind, but Daniels could wind up doing better than all of them. He certainly has shown flashes already.

It reflects his sense of entitlement, the idea that he can do whatever the hell he wants and there will be no consequences. The NFL wasn't the first entity to show him that, but they have done it.

I don't think anyone would be opposed to fewer FGs in the NFL, it's one of the most boring plays in pro football and has become almost automatic at the NFL level. Not sure how you change that, other than limiting each team to three attempts in a game, an idea I had that got hooted at several years ago.

The ESPN or NFL Network bio of Bledsoe is a thing of beauty. He is funny, takes an honest look at himself and is very candid. It's great TV.

I covered his first game as a starter at WSU, I think he torched OSU for 6 TDs or something like that. A generational talent for the Cougs, who have had their fair share of real home-grown talented QBs, not just one- or two-year transfer-portal wonders like Minshew and Ward.

Speaking of field goals, the Cowboys had Brandon Aubrey out for a 66-yarder at the end of the half. The play got blown dead because of a delay of game, but he kicked it anyway and made it easily. Would have tied the NFL record. He did kick a 66-yarder in the preseason.
They initially sent him out to try a 72-yard field goal after the penalty, but the Browns called a timeout and ruined the fun like they always do.

I remember that when was benched for Brady, Bledsoe was plenty pissed off and he was shipped out. But he still comes back to New England, calls into sports shows. Like you said, he has a great perspective.

As a Browns fan, my hope is they lose so badly they can never put Watson out there ever again.

    ELIMINATE PLACEKICKERS ALTOGETHER.

    1. Adopt the 1-2-3 extra point option used in the UFL. No kicks.

    2. Eliminate kickoffs altogether. Instead, the team "kicking off" gets a scrimmage snap from the 50 yard line with a 4th/10 situation. Your choice whether you want to:
    a) run a short pass play (although not necessarily a pass play) to try to gain 10 yards, get the 1D ("onside kickoff")
    b) cross 'em up, throw the bomb
    c) Punt, try to pin 'em down deep. (Most teams would usually do this.)
    d) You could, if you wished, and there was only time for one play, attempt a Goal Ring FG (see below) but this would require your passer to throw the ball into the ring from 55-60 yards away, under presumably a fairly strong pass rush.

    3) Field Goals: Eliminate the current slingshot style goalposts, replace them with a circular Goal Ring 2 yards in diameter, mounted 3 yards off the ground. The Goal Ring has a net attached like a butterfly net (no question if an attempt is good or not). For a Field Goal attempt, 3 points, the offensive team must throw the ball into the Goal Ring.
(The defensive team may "goaltend" to protect the Goal Ring)

Bada Bing. There ya go. No more placekickers. (And you also eliminate the need for holders and snappers, as well as all the practice time needed for placekick teams). Put a QB3 on the roster instead -- probably a long range pinpoint passing specialist for the Goal Ring FG attempts. Or maybe a "Dollar Back" specialist free safety -- a 6-6 converted basketball guy whose main duty would be to "goaltend" Goal Ring attempts.

All these rookie QBs look like garbage.
