That one is going to become an entry on the Obscure Sports Trivia thread thanks to taking Brock Purdy with the final pick of the draft.

Has Collinsworth lost what is left of his mind? Lions gashing them with the run and he’s talking set up for a third-down field goal.

You could see Campbell was loving the hell out of it.

Somewhere I suppose Rod Marinelli is happy to see a team really "pound the rock" in real life as opposed to talking about it.

How about dividing the area between the uprights into three equal six-foot sections. A kick down the middle counts 3, one on either side counts 2, and a doink counts one.

My long-standing idea is making a doink-and-in worth five. Doink-and-out, still nothing, so if you want to roll the dice or you have to roll the dice, good luck.

If you want to get really obscure and in the weeds, trace the full lineage of that trade and check out some of the players involved. It was part of a sequence of trades that began in 2020 and has involved several Pro Bowl-caliber players.

The pick the 49ers traded up to get to take Lance came from the Dolphins, who had acquired it from the Texans as part of the Laremy Tunsil trade in 2020. The Dolphins then traded the first-round from Houston to Green Bay, who used it to take Jordan Love.

In 2021 the Lance trade happened. The No. 3 pick the Niners got to take Lance came from the Dolphins, who had acquired it in the Tunsil trade. Then things really get weird.
The Dolphins got the No. 12 pick from the 49ers as part of the Lance trade. They sent it to Philly, who sent it to Dallas, and the end result was the Eagles drafting De'Vonta Smith, the Dolphins drafting Jaylen Waddle, and the Cowboys drafting Micah Parsons.

In 2022, the Dolphins used the No. 29 pick they got from the 49ers in the Lance trade to get Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs.

In 2023, another of the Lance picks was part of the Dolphins' trade with the Broncos for Bradley Chubb. The Broncos then sent it to the Saints as part of the Sean Payton trade.

Tracing the lineage of draft pick trades is kind of fascinating if you start tracing it. I think there are also some connections between the Stafford/Goff trade and the Deshaun Watson trade because of some of the picks that got swapped around among four or five teams.

That show with Alex Smith and Moss and Rex Ryan was really insightful today. That segment on the QB room was excellent and Bledsoe’s comments were strong stuff, better than some fluff piece with Erin Andrews talking with Dak about his wardrobe entering the stadium.

Look nothing is perfect, so hitting on Purdy evens this out.
