As as I can tell, he shows up, yells “DJ KHALED!” and leaves.

    Which number is more:

    1. The number of songs I would recognize on the VMA awards show you’re watching; or

    2. The number of MTV personalities from yesteryear who have shows on Sirius radio.

Hint: The answer is No. 2. I think Sabrina Carpenter has a song about coffee or something. That’s about it for me!

Chappell Roan, Gracie Abrams and Tyla are the Best New Artist finalists. But you all knew that.

Roan won and is wearing chain mail. Cool.

The VMAs are sponsored by DraftKings? Gotta hook them kids early.

They keep interrupting with Jessie Murph doing various snippets of songs.

She sucks horribly, but the way they edit her in? It's like the cover band who shows up at one of Billy Madison's pool parties. She doesn't sound like this, but the effect is the same.

One of the players I covered had Bad Bunny's "Fuego" as his walk-up song and I'm obsessed, so I'm going to just assume he got hosed out of the Latino Of The Year Award.

Forget that though because, holy shit, where they'd dig Busta Rhymes out from?

Busta Rhymes looks relatively ... regal? Or he looks like he just walked out of a board meeting.

He introduced LL Cool J and they gave the hype-crowd (cough ... paid to be) near the stage with red kangol hats.

Everything rocks and never dies, but we remember ...

So the DefJam celebration was mainly an LL Cool J celebration?

Still with it. Waiting for Randee Of The Redwoods, Dan Cortese and John Norris to make a cameo.

All the ladies in the house, give it up for Russell Simmons!

How is it possible to have video music awards when the only videos I see on TV are on throwback shows?
