System hires an interim for the rest of the year.
Or not. I have no more fucks left to give.
Since the start of the year, my blood pressure has been on the rise. Friday before school even started, it was 152/104.

The ball is entirely in my court. If the system wants to work with me, I can be a help and be available to guide a new person into the job. If the system wants to play hard ball, I am in a position to drop my keys on somebody's desk as I walk out in the middle of the day and say, "Uhh, I'll need class coverage for the rest of the year."

    - Middle-age guy coming to grips quandary -
I was just at Academy Sports. Decided to walk down the gun aisle just to see what they had.
The sales guy (who has checked me out before) speaking to a woman younger than me and a boy: "It's funny. By state law, at 18 he can own a handgun, but he can't purchase it or the ammo."
Woman: "Yeah, it's his birthday present."
Me, thinking to myself but wanting to scream: "What the FUCK ARE YOU THINKING?"

Here's the problem. I can't cast the first nor the 50th stone. I was probably 16 when my dad bought me a .357. That was also four decades ago and not the world we live in today. I actually took it hunting and not to militia practice.
I wouldn't call what's running through my head a moral dilemma, but it certainly creates moral confusion.

Yeah, let's arm teachers. What could possibly happen?

Having known quite a few teachers, the ones they really would like to shoot are the parents.

Maybe we could arm a few librarians and let ourselves read in peace without the book burning Karens pounding on the door.

I never got around finishing Justified, so I suppose it’s possible they got around to this plot line in later seasons. But holy shit. Eastern Kentucky somehow always finds a way to stun me.
