In Defense of DocQuant ...

Hey, just for the record, the frat-boy asshole who is using my (admittedly incensed) flame war rhetoric from years long past to drop hate bombs this week on @doctorquant when he's grieving his late family members can gargle a gallon bag of diseased goat dicks, please.

 

Members? Plural? Damn. As someone who has engaged in a few barbs with the Doc, I renounce myself.

I don't think I've gotten into any flame wars here, but I'm pretty sure I might have called Dick Whitman a cocksucker once.

 

May Quant’s loved one RIP. Have no idea where this is happening (OK, I can guess), but that’s disgusting.

 

Not sure what's going on, but it sounds awful. Not sure why he stopped posting here (maybe stuff like whatever this is?) but a good dude, as far as I or anyone can tell from a message board poster.

And my condolences as well if he pops in to read this.

 

We’ve had our battles on here, and at one point, I remember he said something like, “hey I like you, but you’re wrong here …” or something like that. I hope I’ve semi-mellowed since then to appreciate that.

I hope he is well, and if he’s going through a tough time, offer my thoughts and condolences.

 

I hope Dr. Quant is doing better these days.

I'm a firm believer in the First Amendment, people are entitled to their opinions and should be able to voice them.

As I learned in law school, the great Learned Hand said "let the marketplace of ideas" decide what is right and what is wrong.

Why people take this personal forever befuddles me, just let it go.

While IIRC I disagree with many of doctorquant's views, I don't wish him any ill will (or any of the others on this board).

 

I like DoctorQuant and am sorry to hear he's under heavy weather. May he find peace, healing, and a store of strength in the future.
