I usually bring my kids with me to vote, but I already told them I’m not bringing them this year, just in case there’s some ratfuckery going on at our polling place.

“Why would something bad happen?” they asked.

“Because some people are delusional assholes.”

Some tidbits on the looming East Coast port strike (pulled from a news story):

An East Coast strike hasn’t happened since 1977.
The ILA and the U.S. Maritime Alliance still haven’t formally sat down for negotiations. (For a strike that could begin in less than a week.)
ILA workers want better wages, upwards of a 77% salary increase over 6 years.
“Studies are reporting that for every day it’s shut down, for every day that the ports are shut down, it’s going to take six days of recovery. So if we go into a week, I mean, that’s looking at at least a month of recovery. So the impacts here are pretty significant,”

Trump's advisors may be smarter than I've given them credit for. Those non-substantial interviews he's been doing with Youtubers and influencers are reaching millions of young men. If they turn out and vote this may be closer than we think.
