On the basis of your objections - too expensive; no clear goal; risk of (nuclear) escalation; no proposed diplomatic solution - we should stop sending arms and aid to Israel as well.

What has Russia said are their conditions for ending the war?

Much of what we are sending them is old stock, weapons of a previous generation, ammunition which is nearing the end of it's shelf life. They would be junked or replaced or sold as surplus in any case soon. We get the benefit of testing them and measuring their effectiveness against one of our major enemy's systems. We are depleting and degrading their reserves without the cost of our soldier's lives. The US has long been willing to expend money for weapons instead of the lives of our servicemen, and this is an ultimate expression of this doctrine.

Certainly we are also sending some front line weapons, because when it comes to anti missile and anti drone tech there isn't any old stock. Beats sitting here with our thumb up our asses while Russia bombs cities and destroys power generation going into another winter. Money well spent, and again, we get to measure their performance and improve any weaknesses that are uncovered.

All of this sets aside the idea of standing up for a democracy which was invaded and had its land occupied by a dictator, which is a core value we claim to uphold.

Putin is not dropping a nuke. It would mean Russia being erased from the world. Putin would die a horrible death.

The party bought and paid for by Middle East petrobucks really has the balls to talk about foreign election interference?

Enough heavy political talk. I want to get back to watching Russians get blown up by drones and marvel at their incompetence. Steering this back toward the fun that is the state of Russian military readiness, it looks like their navy is stripping the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier for parts.
In this case, the "parts" being the crew members who were transferred to an army unit and sent to the front line in Ukraine.
The Kuznetsov is infamous for being a rust bucket, but this is interesting that they're obviously giving up on having it back at sea probably ever.

Russia Pulled Men Off The Carrier ‘Kuznetsov’ And Sent Them To Ukraine

Also, this nugget buried in the story was interesting and something I hadn't heard before:

Pepsi wound up with a lot of ships from the Soviet navy, maybe they can sell them back to Vlad.
