I mean, they had to have reached out to Simone Biles, right?

The post Olympic gymanstics tour started today and goes through early November, so if she is interested she had to push it after that

Simone has the starpower, but I'd like to see Ilona Maher given a shot (even though she is occupied by Dancing With the Stars). She had a great spirit about her as the face of the U.S. rugby team that won bronze, and already had a big following on the socials.

Honest to goodness, the first thing I did was scan the story to see if Chappelle was on the post-election show. Please for the love of God do not tempt fate like that again. It worked out last time, barely.

Oh if Trump wins, they'll announce special surprise co-hosts Musk, Trump and Rudy and musical guest Kid Rock. Rob Schneider and Victoria Jackson will rejoin the cast. The idea of how much and how many people will suddenly be on bended knee to save their income streams and stay out of Trump Prison will be disgusting.

It would be nice if they let Martin Short join the 5-times club at some point this year given how many of the 5-timers sketches he was in as a gag. Not a lot of other new jackets this season, the four-timers club doesn't include many current big names. Ashton Kutcher? Lindsey Lohan? Cameron Diaz? Dana Carvey? Michael Palin and Eric Idle have each hosted four times, and there was the time Palin was brought in because Ebersol didn't think Michael Keaton was funny. Considering how much debt SNL owes Monty Python, it would be a nice tribute.

Considering the anniversary season, Carvey getting to be a five-timer makes sense -- bring in Mike Myers for Wayne's World and some other cast members front his time for appearances. Other than short I can't imagine any of those others, especially Diaz because she's basically given up acting and hasn't worked in a decade.

Lohan has the Freaky Friday sequel next year but I don't know if it will be out in time for her to go on and promote it.

How David S. Pumpkins wound up with a Wikipedia entry AND his own special is one of the great mysteries of our time.
