It’s a real photo, but Musk has said he had no idea who she was and the magazine (vanity fair) took the photo of him with her behind him.

While denying it, he points out that no one ever questions what she was doing at a vanity fair party.

so while I think Musk is a shitbag, I do tend to believe his story.
