North Carolina law gives a natural disaster exemption to its voter ID requirements, which is only right, but may mitigate voter losses on either side in western NC.

 

But it FEELS like a crazy person with no plans or knowledge of how tariffs work would be the better choice.

And one week of a longshoreman's strike will overshadow all of the good news. And Trump will blame Biden/Harris/Pete for all of it.

 

Beyond mail service, I don’t see how they will be able to stand up physical polling places in several of these communities, nor if the locals will be willing to jump through all of the hoops to vote when there is so much else they have to worry about to recover.

That said, while rural WNC is heavily Republican, Asheville is a major source of Democratic voters. I suspect those two cancel each other out.
