I was going with 8 bets, 3 bats, 2 balls.

That's fine, but the Hall is a joke without them.

A 1B hitting under .300 with no power isn't good. His OPS+ for the 9.years at the end of his career was only over 100 once in a full season.

The accomplishment should be recognized, but he should not be enshrined in any form or fashion.

Hey, I'm totally with you. I think it's a travesty in the baseball sense that neither are in Cooperstown.

Matt, it doesn't work like that. You know that.

If they have Hall of Fame careers and aren't in the Hall of Fame, that's not fully ackowledging their baseball greatness. AND it calls Cooperstown's legitimacy into question.

Not a fan of this line of thinking.

Phillies already had power in their lineup elsewhere at different positions. Rose was a leadoff or No. 2 hitter, not a traditional spot for a 1B.

He filled a valuable role. Who cares what position he provided it from?

Side note apropos of little. The plaques are the most boring part of the museum in Cooperstown.

Because a team can get a better hitting 1B. Why not improve the position regardless of the rest of the team?

He would not play the last five years of his career in this era.

Luis Arraez does, and he's not exactly the King of Pop.
