The piano riff on this song is so beautiful

Tedeschi Trucks Band reimagining 1999 as a blues song, with the great Mike Mattison on vocals

The opening bass riffs make me think it's Crazy by Gnarls Barkley, every single time.

It's basically the same music structure.

But a different song and it's comes on the radio a lot out here, KROQ, and is pretty good and burrowing deeper and deeper every time.

    Gnarls ...

The riffs are similar but there is no mistaking the opening of Crazy.

BTW, a rare Hozier sighting. I have a weakness for songs with tubular bells.

Talking about goth on another thread yesterday had me thinking of goth music, namely bands that had the look but weren't necessarily musically "goth." One such band was The Mission (known as Mission U.K. in the U.S.) This is an awesome song:

For the KISS fans out there ... a remastered version of their bad-ass January 1975 Winterland concert in San Francisco. Found it on youtube and there went an hour of my night. An hour well spent!

And there goes an hour of my day. Outstanding! Thanks for sharing!

Another reason The Mission weren't goth: Goth didn't concern themselves with little girls being molested. This was a powerful song 34 years ago.

My first exposure to Cage the Elephant a few years ago was true love with Social Cues.

I didn't listen to them much after. This song ... Neon Pill ... came out recently and I didn't really like it.

Now I love it. So many great layers.

Cage the Elephant is a Nashville/Bonnaroo staple.

Meanwhile, all this stress is taking a Tull.
