Count me in the Salvy Perez fan club. I certainly loved the Mets run to the World Series in 2015 and would’ve preferred a win. But as a baseball fan, that 2015 title team the Royals had was so fun. Just relentless, great baseball every night.

Perez still doing in, 9 years later. Great stuff.

    My only issue with Salvy.
When he gets 2 strikes, his strike zone becomes infinite.
If you need to find a 2-out k, and you’ve got Salvy in the hole, throw one in the opposing on-deck circle and you’ll prolly get him to fish.

People on this board must be so inured to Costas that they didn't notice he referred to Ken Griffey, Jr. as a righty.

    [IEDIT 'm inured to what I wrote./EDIT]

He's somehow gotten MORE patient at age 34 though...drew 44 walks this year after never drawing as many as 30 in his first 12 seasons. Has also moved off catcher to play a bunch of first base, unlike Molina who had to be dragged from behind the plate kicking and screaming, (No I'm not a Molina fan and he'd be the worst Hall of Famer by about 100 miles if he makes it)

What should he have referred to him as?

Costas' call on the second Stanton 6-4-3 double play was remarkably unprofessional. The disappointment in his voice was obvious and embarrassing. I'm sure he'll say he feels bad for Stanton and the criticism he will endure for his slow running speed because "it's not his fault." But come on.

I got it backwards while I was writing.

Costas was listing great AL RH's to whom Stanton is comparable to: DiMaggio, Mantle, Ken Griffey Jr.

    That last sentence is ridiculous.

Sir I never write ridiculous sentences! :D

You're correct. Lots of worse Vets Committee guys. I'm thinking guys elected by the writers.
