Glad to see Washington return. Hilarious, low-key non-topical stuff.

Can't believe they missed the joke having Kamala scarfing a bag of Doritos during the VP debate (as she said she did when Trump was elected), Barghaze does have a very different energy from what you usually see on the show. Are the Please Don't Destroy guys history?

I think he's sort of filled the "detached social commentator" role of Steven Wright. Absolutely nowhere near as deadpan, but the same general idea -- the oddities of the world.

I think it's unclear about PDD right now. According to the ole Internet, they "only" do 10 to 12 shorts a year. Nothing the first week, and the second week had a Lonely Island short. Both shows also had a slew of pre-taped or cameo stuff already, so maybe PDD will surface later in the year. Or, maybe it's gone completely! Hard to say.

Agree. He also plays up the average Joe/dumb guy/befuddled husband. With a lot of self deprecation. Which has appealed to me since there’s a lot of unearned/inflated ego across all walks of life recently.

They posted a video on their social media about how one of them left the window to their office open all summer and it was filled with pigeons.

Update about Please Don't Destroy, looks like it was just them not doing something for the first two shows. They're in the commercial for the Ariana Grande show:

You know, there's always a lot of attention when castmembers don't return (as opposed to leaving at the end of the year on their own terms). But I do think the show does a good job of keeping things fresh. Obviously way too early to tell about the newbies this season. But then again, I felt the same way about Marcelo Hernandez and Anthony Dismukes when they started out. It wasn't like they busted out in the first season, or their first show of their first season like.... this guy.

Dismukes has grown on me. Hernandez, Longfellow, Walker ... not so much.

Dismukes has carved a good niche as a utility guy, much like Mikey Day. I like Hernandez, because he brings that frenetic energy and gives the cast a male Latino angle it's only really had with Fred Armisen.

Walker: I hate to say it, but he's basically "the other Black guy" next to Kenan, but he's pretty good with impressions -- like a discount Jay Pharoah.

Longfellow: I don't think he's criminally bad, but just bland and deadpan.

He is very funny in a non-edgy way, but the “I’m just an idiot” schtick grates after a while.
