Is the show delayed in the east because of football? We’re stuck with a lame local wrap up show in LA market.

Mocking the Celine Dion thing from last SNF is genius.

Grande really is remarkable with the skills she has. The monologue was great and a good idea to the sketch she (and Bruno Mars) did on Pandora/SiriusXM crashing. Her Celine was amazing.

And another short film from someone who's not the Destroy boys.

Is everybody getting technical difficulties or is it just my local NBC station?

Edit: I guess it just was a really long break, just came back to Nicks doing her second song.

This episode has been great. Caught me exactly right and laughed/enjoyed throughout.

I really only know Ariana Grande from SNL and the time she licked that donut. But she’s a great SNL host. Perfect skill set and absolutely buys in and gets it. Kills every time.

My only concern is she seems to get physically smaller every time she’s on. My goodness she’s a tiny person. With Broadway pipes.

Ariana Grande having to sing shitty in the bridesmaid sketch is oddly compelling.

I just knew she got her start from those schmaltzy Nickelodeon shows (and was part of that documentary about that sleazeball producer that also created Kenan's All That).

Caught the Maybelline sketch. I think Grande's take on Coolidge was actually better than Chloe's, which is saying a lot.

Anyone have any insight on how the "featured player" thing works? I get that they get paid less and you only get elevated after a few years, but I also wonder if its more a budgeting thing than a talent deal when someone doesn't get asked back.

Totally agree. She was awesome. So was her Celine Dion impression and her terrible singing as a bridesmaid.

I think it’s just hiring someone with lower pay with the understanding that it’s a probationary period. I think that all/most of the talent are hired season to season, so I don’t think that there is a substantive difference. Just paying people less to round out the cast.

She licked the donut at a shop just down the street from me. They milked the notoriety for a few months and then shut down, replaced by an urgent care.
