@OscarMadison can attest that Nashville has like 5 separate Old Hickory Boulevards.

In 1962, when I was 10, we moved to Bryn Mawr Ave. For the next couple dozen years, anybody I told where I live, they had never heard of it and didn't know where it was. It was only two blocks long, between 16th and 18th.

Boston consists of cities that Boston absorbed and each of the old cities had a Washington St. There are at least 6 different Washington Streets in all of Boston.

Never figured out how these co-op deals could hold as other former co-op companies like Ace built company-owned stores and thrived.

Pat Summerall used to voice True Value radio spots.

The great Ray Scott did Western Auto commercials. Alas, I cannot find any.

I always associated True Value ads with Paul Harvey.

The last True Value store I remember was the one from my hometown, which opened right after World War II and lasted until 2005. One of those classic two-story brick buildings right on the courthouse square. We weren’t customers, but word around school was they always had the best sleds for winter.

Just one of those rock-solid local businesses that was the backbone of small-town America. By the time I learned to appreciate that saving a couple of quarters at the big box out on the four lane wasn’t always the right answer, the world had moved on.
