What a bizarre thing for her to publicly tweet. So she is completely going against her own team overall. She doesn't want to play? Maybe because they have completely gotten their asses kicked in the conference matches they have played? What the hell?

What's also crazy is all indications are, and I think it has been reported and maybe was even in the lawsuit, is Slusser and Fleming seemed to be pretty darn good friends before all of this. Fleming has a TikTok account and the two of them are yucking it up on media day from last year. Regardless of all else, is this really enough to completely betray a friend and teammate?

As I posted early in this, someone who seemed to be really in the know said this wasn't exactly a secret. Why did it become such an issue now? Maybe a little election year, but I bet someone got to Slusser and she's cashing in.

In the long, sad string of replies supporting Slusser is this. Just to reiterate that there are miscreants everywhere.

They'd have fun with "Girls of the Mountain West. "

That guy is a piece of work. I was thinking that might be a bot, and still could be, since he follows a whopping 73 and has 33 followers and joined in June, but his posts are all very specific to fighting the males in girls sports epidemic. Four just on his daughter's high school team? Wonder where this is and how it didn't make any kind of news.

While looking at his interesting posts I see the governor of Nevada made a public statement about the situation, which pretty much makes it universal in the places where this has happened the state politicians have been involved.

That seems wildly unbelievable to me. At least according to a UCLA report from 2022, they estimate about 1.6 million trans people in the U.S., and 300,000 from ages 13 to 17. Four on a single god damn tennis team? That's either an incredible statistical anomaly, or a noteworthy "fuck you" to a tennis coach or school system or something.

yeah I'm going to call bullshit on there being four on any sports team in any single high school. And the fact that is happening in 2024 and no one has made a national story out of it?

    1. I agree it's untrue

    2. If it were, say, 2 players, I don't think it'd be reported anywhere but far right-wing media.

This is a settled issue at almost all TV stations, internet sites and newspapers: Bring it up only if it's an inescapable reality, which mass forfeits obviously create.

I think what happens or is happening is the people who are the loudest about trans athletes (and let's be clear, transwomen athletes, they don't care the other way around), is that they really deep down think a bunch of dudes who couldn't hack it with their teams put on wigs and makeup and set out to dominate the girls. That never has and never will happen.

Then the next step is they go after those who they determine to not fit their feminine ideals. See the boxing situation in the Olympics. If this guy speaks anything near what he believes is the truth, this is where he probably falls. They are all biological girls, they just aren't girl enough for him. There have been other cases, that have made the news, of parents trying to out athletes in this way, which is awful for all sorts of reasons.

In a case like Fleming, she transitioned to female a long, long time ago. Likely before puberty. I'm guessing she never went through puberty as a male. If you didn't know she was trans from all of this, you wouldn't guess it without thinking really too hard. She really does not have many "male" advantages anymore and likely never really did. She is a good but not great volleyball player playing at San Jose State, not Nebraska.

This is also likely where most transwomen athletes, those who are out there, fall. If there were sports teams being inundated by trans athletes, we'd know about it. We don't -- exactly two NCAA D-I athletes out of how many women in the past few years have been public -- so it isn't really a huge issue. But man, is there a faction that thinks it is.

How many matches did Slusser play before she had a problem with her teammate?

To me it looks like a case of someone who red-pilled and is looking to hook on the MAGA gravy nipple. I'll leave it at that.

A certain POTUS candidate was talking about this today. I hope security on campus is good.
