John Sterling actually had a good line during the game the other night. The Yankees "run the bases like drunks."

 

I want to see a few Tim Hill pitches from the hitter angle.

That's a couple of pretty fair hitters who just had those homers. If Judge is hot, the Yanks are hard to beat.

 

Emmanuel Clase surrendered two home runs in the entirety of the 2024 regular season.

 

I will add that giving up two consecutive tw0-strike homers to two guys who've each had multiple 50+ HR seasons is not what I'd call crafty twirling.

I give them credit. They find the most dramatic ways to break your heart.

Fun season, though. I’ve gotten to the age where I celebrate the grand slam and consider it the victory, fully knowing the end will be something that’s never happened before.

 

It’s the result of thinking you can just bullpen your way through every game. An unhittable 103 mph cutter is suddenly 98 and lifeless.

 

I’ve seen Class A ball this year that was played better than this. (By both teams.)
