    I will add that giving up two consecutive tw0-strike homers to two guys who've each had multiple 50+ HR seasons is not what I'd call crafty twirling.

    I give them credit. They find the most dramatic ways to break your heart.

    Fun season, though. I’ve gotten to the age where I celebrate the grand slam and consider it the victory, fully knowing the end will be something that’s never happened before.

    It’s the result of thinking you can just bullpen your way through every game. An unhittable 103 mph cutter is suddenly 98 and lifeless.

    I’ve seen Class A ball this year that was played better than this. (By both teams.)
