They need to get into a conference with the University of Phoenix, Southern New Hampshire University and Hillsdale College.

A couple of weeks late but I’m just now hearing about this. Fuck this fucker.

    Games I like this week:
    • Navy +13 vs. Notre Dame — Two good teams and a line that is way, way too big for a game like this. Could be a trap, but I’ll walk into it.

    • Indiana -6.5 vs. Washington — Washington has gone even-odd-even-odd on wins and losses this season, which seems weird, but I don’t think Hoosiermania has peaked yet.

    • BYU +2/ML at UCF — BYU is not only 7-0, they’re 6-1 against the spread. They keep getting great lines in their favor, like this one. This is the fourth time they’ve been underdogs, and none of their lines have been in double digits either way since Week 2.
BYU has a clear path to the Big 12 championship game — they manage to avoid the next five teams below them in the standings — so hopefully they keep flying under the radar all season.

    • Illinois +21.5 at Oregon — This feels like the kind of game where I get a little too overconfident in a solid but not spectacular Big Ten team, am a little underwhelmed with a functionally bipolar Oregon team, and then good Oregon shows up and it’s 42-0 at halftime. So let’s hope B- Oregon shows up and this thing stays within three touchdowns. That line is just too tempting to resist.

    • Wyoming +1/ML vs. Utah State — Wyoming is still bad, but they’ve elevated from “Holy SHIT they are bad” to “Eh, they had their chances in that one.” Utah State can’t stop anybody (they’re No. 132 of 133 in scoring defense), so give me the Cowboys.

    • LSU +2.5/ML at Texas A&M — With Texas in the SEC, this is another intense rivalry for LSU that’s soon going to be relegated to B-tier status like the ones with Alabama and Auburn. And that’s a shame. There have been some memorable moments and games in this series the past five or six years, and these two fan bases really don’t like each other.
Anyway, give me LSU on a toss-up game.

    • Hawaii +2.5/ML vs. Nevada — Hawaii is back to being a tough out when they play at home, even if they’re not a great team overall. They’re 2-2 at home, with the two losses to a good bad team in UCLA and a 28-7 closer than it looks game vs. Boise State. I’ll take them in the midnight special.

    • Mississippi State +6.5/M: vs. Arkansas — Losing its starting quarterback seems to have been a good thing for Mississippi State. True freshman Michael Van Buren has played pretty well and they’ve held their own against three good teams in a row. If they’re going to win an SEC game this season, this is the spot to do it. It’s a bit of a flyer, but those are fun sometimes.

And some games I want to like but can’t:
    • Colorado -5 vs. Cincinnati — Is Colorado actually good or not? They’re 5-2 (good). They’ve had some really impressive wins against mid-tier Big 12 teams (good). But they needed miracles to beat Baylor and North Dakota State (bad), and could just as easily be 3-4. Too much schizophrenia, especially with Travis Hunter nicked up, to trust them.

    • James Madison -24.5 vs. Southern Miss — Southern Miss is terrible and fired its coach, which is what scares me a bit. Do they get a slight momentum bounce before they settle in to play out the string, or not? With this big a spread, I think I’ll wait it out.

    • Ole Miss -20.5/O48.5 vs. Oklahoma — Oklahoma is flailing, but they seem to be right on that razor’s edge where a big line like this could go either way. If they manage to score one touchdown they might cover, and if they score two they probably will. Yet it’s hard to say they’ll do either, which screws you on the total. So it’s a pass. Too many other games on the board that are more fun.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm following a Kennesaw State football game.

You strike me as a knowledgeable chap. Do you break even? Better? If you're a failure as a gambler, I'll consider that proof of why Vegas is Vegas.

First FBS victory comes against undefeated conference foe. Gotta love that.

Kennesaw State takes care of that little G5 problem.

Thoughts and prayers for Trump University of Lynchburg.
That is such a beautiful result in Kennesaw. And it begs a question: When's the last time that a winless team beat an undefeated team at this stage of a season?
