This g*damned election reminds me of Glengarry Glen Ross when Williamson berates Levene for not realizing or ignoring the craziness and unsuitability of his latest customers.

You’re one of 30 people in a boat. It’s sinking.

Of the 30, 10 want the boat to sink. They are in full-throated agreement.

    Of the remaining 20:

    - 8 want to save the boat.
    - 5 want to save the boat, but only if it is saved by a diverse crew using sustainable methods.
    - 3 want to save the boat, but not if THAT PERSON is going to get credit.
    - 3 figure, “I’m wearing a life jacket, I’ll be OK no matter what.”
    - 1 is actually a nihilist who truly doesn’t care.

    That’s how one-third becomes a majority.

Georgia update: Almost 2.4 million ballots are already in the bank, which means 1 of 3 registered voters have already made their choice. Consider a total of 4.93 million Georgians voted for President in 2020, so with more than a week to go, the turnout is close to half of 2020's entire total.

Absentee ballots are actually running ahead of that, with almost half of them returned. The trend line is still tracking up with no hint of plateauing any time soon. Another 195,000 people voted yesterday, so Election Day lines might be relatively short, or perhaps will blow past 5 million quite easily. With 7.2 million registered voters, 6 million might be achievable.

The trend is still heavy women (up to 55.7 percent now), significant 50-75 age group (20-39 working folks are underperforming) and 600,000 votes from Blacks (30 percent). I'm not seeing any particular trend in rural/urban, other than pockets of counties which are lagging in early voting (mainly in Republican-leaning areas).

However, a quarter of a million people in Fulton County have voted already. The next three -- Cobb, Gwinnett and DeKalb -- all have at least 160,000 ballots. So that's nearly 750,000 ballots from four of the five biggest counties in the Atlanta metro, which tilted Biden in 2020.

If there's any voter suppression or voter fatigue, it's not showing in the data. I think Georgians are clearly making this a third referendum on Donald Trump.

We're doing no such thing. Not discussing the invasion at all.

But talking about pre-invasion Ukraine --- as McFaul is doing --- is political suicide for the Democrats. Coups are either bad or they are good. You can't have this "they're good when they serve our purposes" nonsense.

The "pro Russian" guy was democratically elected (Ukraine had gone back and forth for two decades between pro-West and pro-East presidents) and had only 15 months left in his term. Fifteen stinking months.

The U.S. position should have been --- and should always be --- "Vote him out, because that's what democratic nations do. And that's what you've done for the past two decades." Once you abandon that for lawless coups, you lose all moral standing.

The number of voters across America with detailed knowledge of the Orange Revolution and willing to base their vote on it might fill up half of an abandoned K Mart.

Yikes, Orange was a decade before the 2014 debacle. :)
