Holy shit. Even Zach Wilson was in the mid-50s.

I think if Richardson gets a second contract it will be at a position other than QB. I know, boy, I'm really going out on a limb.

He was 2/15 in the first half. That was something I did not think was possible in modern NFL with short screens and check downs.

Joe Milton could probably throw it 95 yards.

Somehow scouts see his obvious flaws and miss those of players like Richardson.

Which teams are going to be fighting for the top 3-4 QBs in the 2025 draft? (Updated Week 8)

    100% no doubt
    Las Vegas
    Tennessee
    Carolina

Possibly do two-year tank for Arch Manning
    N.Y. Giants
    New Orleans

    Wild Cards
    Indianapolis
    N.Y. Jets

    Retirement could force hand
    L.A. Rams

The 2025 rookie QB market seems pretty set at the top with those three teams. It all seems pretty obvious they are going to be hunting for new arms.

The Saints have a potential out on Carr's contract after this season, but they would really temper the cap hit by waiting until the end of next season, so they could go either way. My guess is they'll try to run it back and see if fortunes change.

Something tells me the Anthony Richardson thing isn't goiing to work out for the Colts, just feels like it's heading down a bad path. The chances of them picking up his fifth year option when the time comes seem very slim.

The Jets-Rodgers marriage is at the end of the line in terms of guaranteed money, and the guarantees for Adams' contract are done after this season too, so the Jets could move on from both with little penalty other than the embarrassment of this season.

Titans need to flip their first rounder (top 5 seems all but assured) for extra picks instead of chasing a QB who would have been a borderline prospect in the 2024 draft.

Jeez, the Raiders somehow have the Chiefs #, 27-20 with no competent QB play? If LV could somehow wrangle Arch M? They might have something then.

Hell, IF LV had gone for Winston or Flacco instead of Minshew? They might have been the surprise team of '24.

Vegas could definitely stick with their QB platoon and try to get into the Arch sweepstakes. I don't know if Antonio Pierce would be down with that, but such is life.

The sad thing is, Minshew played pretty well yesterday except for the fumble. (The latest of way too many turnovers this year). I'm watching him run the offense and doubt a rookie would do better. Seriously, the Raiders offense works (except inside the 10 for some reason).
I'd throw the Jets, the Dolphins, the Browns (if it isn't Jameis), and the Jags in the "need an answer" at QB for next year. I don't see Rodgers going back to NY. If I'm Mark Davis, I tell Brady his first task is to find possible solutions for the QB position via the draft, a trade and FAs and hope something shakes loose. At this point, grabbing Malik Willis wouldn't be a bad idea. Or even bringing back Carr from NO for a short-term fix.

Minshew is a great backup. I would say he's a top 5 backup in the league, which makes him a good spot starter that will keep you in most games, but the more he plays, the little mistake appear, and they become the difference between winning and losing. Plus, I think that market is going to want a true "face of the franchise" type player.

The Jaguars are super locked into Trevor Lawrence for a couple of years. I think the Dolphins can entertain an out with Tua next season, but 2026 would be the likely time. The Browns' contract with Watson is fully guaranteed through 2026 as well. They have to wait out the string.
