Finished the latest season of Only Murders last night. It was fine — you can’t think that hard about the logic of the crime, because it certainly had tons of holes in it. But a fun enough ride and they will obviously go another season.

@OscarMadison — you must have beat me by less than a second! And it was Tea Leoni. The bridesmaids were her son and Oliver’s son.

Leoni seems like she can pick up the mantle dropped by Kathleen Turner without chipping a nail. She needs to do more noir,

I love her as an actress and I’m not sure that there are very many women who were more attractive than she was on Flying Blind (at least to an early 20s me).

They leaned in a little too hard on the stunt casting. The show is better when it focuses on the three main characters.

Did the Westies storyline really add much?

There aren't many actresses with the kind of camera presence that will allow a showrunner to devote thirty seconds to someone waking up and stretching while the sun rose through their window. That show was a case study in using human beauty to create pretty videography.(Mass comm and film major at the time.) Frank Cho did something similar with Liberty Meadows many years later.

The stunt-casting was mostly well done. I thought Molly Shannon was great as the producer and Griffin Dunne disappeared into Dr. Dudenoff. Sad to say the contrast between the energy brought to the show by the Hollywood version of our heroes and The Westies made me cringe for the left coasters. (Is this a good time to admit I had a crush n Eugene Levy when I was twelve? No? Forget I typed that.) The Westies are another part of the Arconia and aside from being an entertaining red herring, I want to see them again for the same reason I like it when Howard and Uma make appearances.

The Comeback on Netflix about 2004 Bosox. As a fan since Fred Lynn and ‘75 Bosox, that team was a fantastic ride. After the Boone HR in ‘03, what a great payback.

Going over GM 7 of 03, there’s a great John Henry quote when Grady Little leaves Pedro in after mound visit in 8th, Henry says he turned to Lucchino (team pres)
“do we have to wait until game is over to fire Little?”
