If Steinrenner was still alive, Boone would have been fired three years ago

Boone would have been fired after Game 1 for bringing in Cortes.

I had a long day at work yesterday, got home around 8, popped a gummy and melted into the couch. I actually thought I was hallucinating when I saw the Cole/Rizzo fiasco in the 5th inning. I didn't think that sort of fuckery was possible on the sport's biggest stage. I have no ill will toward Cole, but the Yankees as a whole can suck it. Caveat to add that I don't think anybody in the American League could have beaten that Dodgers team. Everyone who made the playoffs had significant flaws. Just took until the end for the Yanks' flaws to really show.

And Cashman would have been fired a decade ago, and the job would be Costanza’s.

You could almost see Boone thinking about what Cabo was going to be like as Freeman was rounding the bases.
