Same on all of these. Plus I want to see how many pseudo-tough guys will be there in their GI Joe costumes and MAGA hats, walking the perimeter as "election watchers"

Of course not. They believe he's the greatest president ever, or one of the top two or three. Nothing he does is bothersome to them. Anything said about him is lies or can be forgiven because "people make mistakes."

    Fuck the media? Of course!
Put "them" in prison? Of course!
Cutting taxes? Of course! (even though it's only for the wealthy)
Deport those dirty aliens? Of course!
Show fealty and loyalty? Of course!
Fire anyone who doesn't? Of course!

Anything he says is gold to them. Tyrant? Elite? Nah, he's a self-made man - with a little help from his father, maybe - who gets the job done.

In some ways I understand Trump's appeal. The core of his base has "sat out" politics for most of their life. They see Trump as the first politician who "gets them," they probably didn't vote much before him. Like a lot of Bernie people. Like some Obama people. Trump is the totality of their political knowledge. A scary thought to be sure.

I don’t encounter Bush basing among friends and family so much as I do total radio silence on the topic. 2009 was the year of “Miss Me Yet?” billboards and there were a couple of brief mentions around his dad’s funeral. Otherwise he may as well be a nameless 14th century peasant. You’d never know he existed.

Completely agree. W. used to show up at golf events and hang out with O and Bubba. They were plenty chummy. But he's sat out nine years of THIS? That's cowardice, and not at all the guy he wanted to be with a bullhorn at Ground Zero.

"How's that "Hire a businessman to be President" working oout for you?

I think the totality of Trump's appeal is the unwashed, "garbage" masses who finally have found someone who tells them it's OK to hate people who don't look like them, to trivialize and marginalize immigrants and women, and even encourages people to punch down on those who you can punch down on. It's the primitive, primal urges that most people with 2 ounces of intelligence move past by the time they reach elementary school.

The rest of these fucking dolts are buying MAGA hats and contributing nothing to society while screaming "LOCK HER UP!"

They appeared together after the Biden inauguration.
Saw him and Clinton have a joint appearance via C-SPAN in College Station, Texas.
My impression is, in general, he wants to stay out of the spotlight.

Maybe he’s in the Resistance National Guard.

Maybe he's exercising his First Amendment rights.
