    - Army should not be ranked at all. They have the second-worst schedule in the country.
    - Vanderbilt has a shout at the top 20 I would think.
    - Does the Pac-2 get considered as a "conference". I don't think so. In that respect, Wazzu is out.
    - Miami will almost certainly be among the top four seeds as the ACC champ.

Props to the AP writers who dropped ND on a bye week because their most notable win, Texas A&M lost to SC. You don't see that enough.
My only prediction on the Playoff rankings is someone will be quoted as saying "It will work itself out."

Miami's ranking is curious because they will be the top ACC team, obviously, but if the committee isn't really buying them, it all but guarantees the ACC is a one-big conference and would leave the 'Canes no margin of error. I know they will be behind some one-loss teams, but how many.

What if SMU's only losses are to Miami in the ACC championship game and an undefeated BYU team by three points? The Ponies also have nice road wins at Louisville and Duke and the comfortable home win over Pitt. There's a path there. If SMU beats Miami to win the ACC and it's the Canes' only loss, Miami is in.

As for the rest of the ACC, Clemson has to win out and hope either Miami or SMU stumbles, because the Tigers aren't getting in with two losses and no ACCCG appearance. Their best win would be at VT or Pitt? Not enough. If Pitt wins out and fails to make it to Charlotte -- they'd need Miami to lose to get there -- They'd be 11-1 with wins over Clemson, Louisville and West Virginia. Probably not enough, but they'd be in the conversation. Just not sure how many three-loss teams will make it into this thing, even from the SEC or B1G.

Only path I see for Miami is winning the ACC. If they lose to SMU that's zero wins against ranked opponents. Remember they are ranking their opinion of the 12 best teams and with that metric Miami doesn't cut the mustard.

Random fact of the day: FSU has concluded its regular-season conference schedule (1-7). Four of their ACC brethren are halfway through their league slates: Pitt, Wake Forest, BC and Cal.

Trojans reportedly planning to change quarterbacks. Miller Moss out, Jayden Maiava in. Maiava is a UNLV transfer.
Trojans have a bye this week. Moss was supposed to be accurate and smart -- has been neither in recent games. Interceptions were definitely the turning points in the past two losses.
