It's technically possible the blue wall could come through.

    It's looking really fucking unlikely.

My wife has worked for the same company for seven years, albeit in four different stores. Every time she has changed stores she had to prove legal residence.

    CNN: Georgia to Trump.

    Damn this is sickening.

Olbermann looks like he's been crying. I want to, too.

(And maybe Harris actually ought to make a protracted, real legal issue of potential Russian interference, a la Trump and his past election contentions).

Why isn’t CNN calling Connecticut and Jersey for Harris? Not that it matters now.

The number of accounts I see on Twitter saying "Trump was in this exact same spot in 2020. We went to bed and Democrats poured in all the illegal votes. It's going to happen again" is fucking insane.

It's wild how a convenient narrative just overwhelms our memories and our ability to perceive evidence.

Having had to do some whiskey-fueled reflection tonight, I’ve come to the conclusion that I do live in kind of an echo chamber.

I don’t own a TV. I lived abroad for most of the last two years. Almost all of my news comes from this board. I’m surrounded by like-minded people, including my friends and family, and I know personally at least five people who voted for Trump in 2016 who did not vote for Trump today.

I figured that would project to the larger electorate. I was very wrong about that.

I live in one of the reddest of red states, but I was optimistic that we could at least make a dent. I was optimistic we could send a message through the popular vote that the Republican Party as it is currently constituted is a 30-percent cult that is concentrated in rural areas of the former Confederate States of America.

    I was wrong.

My oldest kid — a 30-year-old transgender man, an attorney with a great job, one of the smartest people I know — texted me a few minutes ago.

    “What now?”

    What now, indeed.

    Fuuuuuuck if I know.

I know this: I got ROASTED on this board eight years ago for saying that the United States was a majority racist country. I’ll double down on that by saying it’s majority racist and majority misogynist. I’d love to be proven as wrong about that as I was about today’s results.
