My 15-year-old daughter asked at breakfast how this happened. I had no answer for that.

I did tell her this is why it’s so important to be involved, to find a community, to have supportive friends.

I'm turning my back, the way I did during Vietnam in the early 70s. 180 degrees. Whether I'm there as a guest or anything else.

This is what I plan to do at all future sporting events I cover. I have stood at attention for my last Star-Spangled Banner.

Yay. At least one of my votes paid off.

She might as well take up knitting for all the influence she'll have during sessions.

Also, her entire campaign was built on "bipartisanship" -- she had been a CIA staffer during both the GWB and Obama administrations -- and utterly harped upon "reaching across the aisle," so I'd peg her as an early prospect to jump parties in the next couple years.

My son was 13 at the time of the 2016 election and I had to try and find a way to explain the values I was seeking to raise him with were still valid even when the world rewarded the opposite.

I didn’t do a very good job. Today he’s 21 and a full-blown MAGA. I’ve barely gotten to see him since 2018 when he got pissed at me (not over politics) and stopped coming around.

Today my daughter is 13. I have to try and find a way to explain the values I am seeking to raise her with are still valid even when the world rewards the opposite.

And I still don’t know how.

My soon-to-be step-daughter just turned 17. I had no answers for her this morning.

Then why do it? They have zero incentive to balance the budget. They have a printing press at their disposal, so how does it benefit them to just stop cutting checks and basically guaranteeing their assassination?

Don’t think I realized you had become a stepmom @Wenders. You are doing God’s work, even on a day when it feels like all of the calls to God are rolling straight to voicemail.

Because then they can divert all the electronic funds straight to themselves.

Theyre not worried about assassination. They'll be guarded by special forces troops.
