I can deal with Harris losing disappointed of course, but Trump winning? What that says about our country? What that will mean for the world? Ugh.

What's it say about our country that he had to be stopped no matter what four years ago and 12 million just decided, naw I don't need to show up this time. I don't get that at all.

We don’t care what happens to Ukraine because our eggs cost too much.
We don’t care what happens to Gaza because we paid more for milk Sunday than we did three years ago.
We care only about ourselves. It’s evident anytime you talk to any of these people.

    Yeah, I'm pissed too.
I'm surrounded by MAGAs and the ONLY views I see or hear come through them. I've tried, for years. But I'm engulfed by their hatred. Stunned by their ignorance of basic economic principles and government. Disgusted by their sheer delight that a rapist and convicted criminal will be in charge of women's bodies and the court system.

I WISH I had blinders large enough to block them out. I've seen the world through their eyes, I've heard their hearts, I understand their ignorance -- and never will I try to reconcile with that.

You write: "95 percent of the dumb shit he said will never come to fruition." That's not possibly true, he'll do everything he has promised, while being surrounded by rich, white, privileged men who will pat him on the back and pocket the rest. Project 25 is their bible.

That's nice that you are worried for your daughter and gay nephew. But you will never truly know what they're going through -- and the hell to come -- and that, my friend, is privilege.

If we looked at the world through Trumpists’ eyes, would we be ok with bigotry?

This time, the rubes knew what they were electing. Not just a businessman who would fix Washington, however wrongheaded that was. But a full blown fascist, racist, xenophobe, transphobe hateful ignoramus.

Totally agree with this. You can't blame the Democrats for failing to deliver for whatever group you are touting and then try to convince me the GOP is doing a better job with delivering. What has the GOP Congress done in the last four years that convinces anyone that they are the better option?
About the only thing I can agree is that the party needs to do a better job of connecting to white working class voters. These aren't "Reagan Democrats" anymore, they are Republicans. For whatever reason. I would say Dems have delivered, but other things seem more important to these voters.

All of my friends who were pro-Trump because they were so concerned about the price of eggs, chicken and gas miraculously still feel equally aggrieved when the prices have all fallen to multi-year lows.

Late to the responses (skipped every other page) I'm sure, but it will all be kicking the can down the road, "not on MY watch", THAT is why they need more kids born to pay more taxes into society while those same people take more. It doesn't work. They keep the military lab working.

Maybe he’ll be more presidential this time.

The price of daily or weekly necessities has always been an outstanding bluff excuse to vote Republican.
