It takes an hour to load a PS5 game. What the hell?

Can someone tell me how to play Modern Warfare on PS5? All I get is a bunch of prompts to download something else that doesn't download.

Is there a point to this game? I am roaming around a Bulgarian chateau doing nothing but turning on the heating system.

I want to break my PS5 and it has been two days. Waiting for games to load, seemingly endless periods during which you are walking around the game trying to find the door/desk/piece of paper you need to advance. Fuck this shit.

I don't know about the PS5 (I have a PS4 still), but I've found the best way to download large games and updates is to start them before I go to bed. Let it download in rest mode overnight, and then it's there tomorrow. Sucks when you're hyped to play a new game, but it beats sitting there waiting forever.
The Call of Duty games are usually huge files.
As for how they go, I've never played more than the first level or so of a couple of them. Just couldn't get into them.

Yeah, I think almost everyone on this board is officially too old to troubleshoot when it comes to new installments of Modern Warfare / Call of Duty. :) However, if you have questions about the Xbox edition, well...

I've downloaded a couple of the ones that were PS Plus freebies, but I've never bought one.

Can't I just shoot people in cool ways? Why do I need ten minutes of backstory?

I feel very fortunate to be living in an age when there are Super Mario and Donkey Kong emulators.

I feel like I've been playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for about eight months now. Granted, I don't play every day, but damn, it's deep, though at points kind of repetitive. Getting toward the end finally, but I can't say I haven't gotten my money's worth out of it as far as bang-for-your-buck entertainment value goes.

PS+ had MLB the Show 24 and Dead Space as free downloads, so I'm eager to dip into those. I haven't played MLB since '16. I know it's after the season, but baseball can live on through the winter.

If that's what you want, check out the Sniper Elite games. They're World War II sniper games where you do just that but there are also some survival modes where you can run and gun, blow up enemies with mines, the whole bit, if you want to.
Shooting a Nazi in the balls and getting a close up X-Ray camera of his testicles exploding is fun for the whole family.

I got SE 4 (set in Italy) as another PS Plus game and played the hell out of it. They've since released SE 5 (Normandy), so you can probably get 4 at a decent discount.
They all have downloadable missions where you have to kill Hitler, too. There are some great YouTube clips of the fun ways people have played those.

I finally got into WarZone this year and it’s hard to go back to COD multiplayer. I’ve been playing the hell out of Rebirth Island. It’s unfortunate because Black Ops 6 new movement controls are innovative and super fun to use, but multiplayer just isn’t as fun as the team-focused WarZone. Wondering if they are going to bring the new omnidirectional movement to WZ.
