Compared to what? The never-ending NBA and NHL? The 162-game baseball grind?

I don’t want to get too deep in the weeds on the wrong thread, but college hoops seems to have gotten better this year about quality November matchups in actual home gyms. Kansas-Carolina last night. Houston-Auburn tonight. Purdue-Bama coming up Friday.

I'm not sure how the B1G games are spread out among the various networks (Fox, NBC, CBS), but why Fox would pick the Boilers at Ohio State, I have no idea. If you need to pick a "blue blood" team against one that's (usually) an also-ran, Michigan at Indiana is the choice. Who knows, maybe CBS gets first pick.

Um, bad read on Miami. They might be in real trouble again. I even brought that line down to -3.5. Yikes.

Creeping shadows at BC. 2:15 local time. An excellent example of why I could never hack living in New England.

They look terrible. What the hell was that call on 4th and 1?

Biggest part of the stadium is the west side. You're right it gets dark early here, too early for some, but this is architecture as much as it is being so far Northeast.

Another series like that and Cristobal won’t have a chance to mismanage the clock.

Definitely better November games than normal.

    Admonishment isn't enough. I need full-blown self-denunciation, sir.

    I denounce myself.
I was trying to think of the word that I really wanted. Couldn’t remember. So I settled for a substandard comp. Thank you for reminding me of the appropriate phrase.

Scary play in Miami at Ga Tech. Similar to the double whammy that the NC State QB suffered a couple weeks back. One hit knocks helmet off. Second hit — already in the works and inevitable — is helmet-to-head.
Scary. Remarkably, the Georgia Tech player was back in the game three plays later.
