I think that running back is the last one standing at his position, at least among scholarship players. And yet the Jackets keep playing Miami off their feet. Going to take some world-class creative officiating to keep the U unblemished.

Is it possible for Miami to be 11-1 overall, 7-1 in the ACC, excluded from the ACCCG and in the playoff?

Miami was shown with a 98 percent chance and SMU at 92 percent, so I think it would take a whole lot of weirdness and even then I suspect it comes down to poll rankings which would go their way.

    RE: TV today.
Usually on Friday, I go to the ESPN CFB schedule and make a list of the games I might consider watching on Saturday. This weeks list is the smallest I've ever done. I couldn't find a 9 a.m. PST game to watch, but I settled for Miami-Ga. Tech and it is a good game.
I only have 7 for the whole day, including both of the late games because there is nothing else on.

I was hoping Miami could be 12-0, 8-0 and not in the ACCCG. Of course, that possibility ended last week, but I can’t imagine any better way to point out the absurdity of a 17-team conference.

That’s what a GT education can do for you. Perfect job going down.

While my primary interest, as usual, is the B1G schedule — particularly Michigan at Indiana — I’ll be flipping to the strong SEC matchups today.

There’s six really good teams in that league, and four of them match up today.

    True. Hadn’t considered that.

Players, coaches etc pay more attention to details like this in an age of analytics. Same reason teams go for it on fourth down more often than they once did.

James Madison (excuse me, Indiana) is impressing me. Hoosiers look like the real deal.

Tell you what. I expect a lot of teams to go out and buy themselves a complete team in the transfer portal now that Indiana has shown it works.

If you're a mid-level SEC or Big 18 school with "pay to play" money, why not raid the roster of Mercer or Western Carolina? That's actually not a bad idea for Florida State, to be honest.

Only works to this extent if the coaching is there as well.
