The Lions kind of already have survived without Goff. He passed for just 85 yards on a minuscule 15 attempts a couple weeks ago and his team scored 52 points.

They trusted him enough to let him try from 50-plus six times this season, including playing for one from that distance in overtime the first time they played the Ravens. Remember, that miss went on his statistics, but it was due to a poor snap and worse hold. They should have realized if the Ravens scored, they would have the opportunity to respond. A touchdown there still keeps the Ravens within one score.

This was my problem with how they handled the first meeting. The decisions are oddly inconsistent.

The blow to Burrow's head on the two-point conversion miss isn't the only missed call drawing criticism from Thursday's game. This was a very late hit on Burrow.

Wow. That’s a late hit in 2024 and 2004 and every other year.

The Steelers will be fine. Leading the division. Unlike the Ravens, they won’t lose to the Browns.

4th and 2. Knowing you need maximum points, easily the right decision .

Close game. You cannot give away points. It was easily the wrong decision, made worse by a stupid play call.

I'm not the one putting everything through the lens of how it affects the Steelers right now. That is you and JC doing that. I think the Bengals screwed themselves over royally this season, blowing both games against the Ravens with ill-timed turnovers and poor coaching decisions.

That said, I'm not sure I buy your argument about Pittsburgh. The Steelers' remaining schedule is brutal. Even the first game against the Browns could be tough. They face them on the road on a Thursday night, just four days after the game against the Ravens, the very definition of a potential trap game.

If Henry runs for 2,000 yards and 20 TDs, why isn't he the MVP

Underrated storyline for today's Pittsburgh-Washington game: Commies kicker Austin Seibert, who has been very good, out with a hip injury. Zane Gonzalez elevated from the practice squad. This is probably going to be a tight game, so that's a big development.
