Don't know if it was mentioned earlier, but Shildt received an extension last week. Two years, IIRC.

They are all slam dunks except NL ROY and managers.

I’d go Merrill over Skenes because he was up all season and played every day in meaningful games.

Who do you have as a dunk for AL ROY? I think all 3 NL finalists would beat any of the AL ones.

I was kind of wondering that too. Plus, I think Skubal will win, but I don’t think he’s a slam-dunk choice over Clase.

Clase was insanely good, but Skubal led the AL in wins, ERA, WHIP, and strikeouts. He led or tied for the lead in the majors in wins and strikeouts. I can't see the Cy Young going to a reliever, no matter how good he was, over a starter doing all that.

Just as people get starry-eyed about Gibson's 1.12 in 1968, they'll do the same about Clase's 0.64. And I was about to say his 2024 ERA+ of 674 can't possibly be right, but Zach Britton posted 803 in 2016.

It’s hilarious Cade Smith isn’t up for Rookie of the Year, and a catcher who slugged .395 is.

I mean, who cares, but it is funny.

    Hell, even Gaddis.

Cowser. And you’re right, none of those three are a finalist in the NL.
