While I'm ramping down my politics intake for my own sanity, I'm still glad to be returning to reading this thread, after settling down (albeit only extremely slightly) the past week. It gives me a degree of comfort, and reminds me of the initial form of Sturgeon's Law, "Nothing is always absolutely so"...which is a thought I needed to have today.

Same reason we have one here. Too much demand, aging population that isn't being replaced by college graduates and young workers. Not exactly a new problem. In 2018 they proposed raising the retirement age from 60 to 65 for men and from 55 to 63 for women. But there were too many protests, so the proposal was softened (to 60 for women) . . . and spread out (until 2028).

I thought "so MANY Jews LOVED Trump" - really odd choice he ends up with Huckabee.

Getting car washed today. The car behind me was a Benz with Texas plates, the owner was wearing a red "MAGA" hat - wonder if it registered on the crew drying the car off, or the owner himself.

I''d bet 90 percent of our general/flag rank officers have never voted for a Democrat in their lives, including voting for Trump last week. Same with that radical hotbed, the FBI. But of course anyone loyal to the Constitution must go. Until of course, a critical mass decides otherwise. He would be far from the first demagogue civilian leader to learn the adverse effects of alienating the armed forces.
