    Just the fact that Pete Rose pops up out of nowhere to talk gambling cracked me up given current context.

    Also, I don't know if this was mentioned earlier in the thread, but it was mentioned in the story that a public memorial service was canceled because of "a dispute among his survivors," which doesn't shock me since he has two kids each by his two ex-wives, and another he acknowledged who was born out of wedlock.

    Reds also holding a "Pete Rose Day" on May 14. Although they are home on July 11, which may be more appropriate.

    Interesting. I never really thought fully that rose was the mirror for white America, but in many ways that was right on the nose.
