No, I'm mad that a player with 59 points is now considered to have committed an abomination of sportsmanship if he takes a jump shot at thr end of the game because it would hurt the other team's feelings.

He has scored over 60 in the past. Why would he take a last shot?

Given Embiid’s injury history and how off he seemed against the Knicks at times, it makes no sense to rush him in back to backs.

What's ridiculous is this kabuki pageant we now have in basketball at all levels at which both teams are supposed to quit really playing because "the game is out of reach." If you're on defense, you're not supposed to foul or play tight body defense; if you're on offense you're just supposed to lazily dribble out the clock.

In my day, we had to get the ball out of a peach basket — and we liked it!

What is your position on the victory formation in football? Because this is the same.

Career high is 64 (last year’s Ballgate with the Pacers). Not worth the effort to try for 60.

He does that and there’s bitching here for showing them up.

The funny part is you think this is new. I think your memory might be fading, this has gone on forever.

No, it's gotten much more ritualized the past several years, to the points that non-compliants are ridiculed as unsportsmanlike and fights are threatened.

Ten years ago, if you had a 6-point lead and the clock was running down 3, 2, 1, and you just stopped and threw up a jump shot, make it or not, the response from the opponents would be rolled eyes and probably the jack-off gesture.

Now they threaten to kick ass.
