See, this where Dems really should be in front of the cameras every day calling Republicans the “party of groomers” for the Gaetz nomination.

But nah, just put out a bunch of mealy-mouthed strongly-worded press releases and wring hands hoping that the vast majority of the public, which has already moved on, is paying attention.

 

Well, they’ve done a pretty good job of pushing an alternative narrative that places the blame on Nancy Pelosi and the FBI and makes it look like the Democrats were being too heavy handed punishing decent, hardworking Patriots who just wanted to be heard.

 

Did anyone think that this election result was not caused by the dimmest among us Americans? Of course it was.

And if those fired teachers had ranted against Dems or woke.....they'd have an instant home on Fox, or Congress, or a spot in the Trump Administration Coup point oh

 

I agree. This is such a teachable moment in schools in so many ways, and from so many angles. Teachers should be being direct, and talking about this a lot, and encouraging kids to do so, too, in hopefully, mature, respectful ways.

But alas, it apparently can't be done with regard to Trump -- after all, it isn't done by him or his party -- so schools are just doing what families and friends have been doing -- not talking about the topic at all, because we can't. The topic is untouchable, because it does nothing but cause division for division's sake. Because there is no supportable reason to be supporting Trump -- and yet, he's our President.

 

Ron Brownstein with an interesting take on the election through the lens of 2022.

He argues the Dem success then in stopping a wave of horrible MAGA candidates made the party and Biden complacent. A blowout loss would have forced Biden out sooner.

And he mentioned how the majority of voters now approve of Trump's first term...a threshold he never achieved at the time. Sickening.

Seems a little odd to be putting this on the kids.

I know what dixie means by the lovable leftist teacher. That person probable was lovable, and the not screaming progressive cleric that some of these examples are.

Trump is who he is, and, yeah, the cultural love affair for him stinks. But it stems to some degree from how insufferable the left has become. America is for sometimes better and sometimes worse a free speech kind of place. The left is not the free speech side at this moment. The left is controlled speech - the long list of things you can't or shouldn't ever say, lest you be scolded. People don't like that. They're tired of it. Maybe they shouldn't be tired of it - but they are.

 

It's called peer pressure. It's why you tell your kids not to shit on the floor.

Now we have the "leader of the free world" making a point of shitting on the floor.
