My problem with the thought that "Great, let those GOP reap what they sow is that we ALL reap that horrible choice. The curse of the competent, death of the poor. The person working a $62,000 middle class job without health insurance will no longer have the ACA from which to buy health insurance for himself and family. He's not poor, he's not rich... he's fucked. I think the verbage (and thinking) needs to change from health insurance to health CARE.

    That was a terrific interview.

This response by Nina Burleigh, in particular, was right on target, and hits hard. It really is what's going on right now:

We have to look at the Bobby nomination in the context of this larger project: the autocracy’s need for a population that is divorced from fact. What you see in Russia or places where people just don’t anymore believe in any expertise because they’ve been fooled and lied to so many times. That’s what part of this is: continuing to serve [the project]. It’s like a fog machine, a smoke machine so that people just can’t see anything. They can’t see their way out and they’re blinded. And the only way they can feel like they can get to safety is by having the golden autocrat hold their hand and lead them to the light. That’s what’s going on here. It’s really about the smoke machine. Bannon’s flood the zone with shit. He’s flooding the zone with shit here and destroying the administrative state.

It truly is frightening. As was pointed out later in the article/interview: Voters can have second thoughts; they can reconsider. But there is nothing we/they can do. Everything is now on whichever Senate Republicans may still have any scruples and spine enough to team with Democrats to oppose anything. And even that might not be enough.

How many $62,000 middle class jobs don't offer health insurance?

And whatever comes after the ACA (if it goes away; it was never mentioned all campaign season) will be SOMETHING.

Or, they could just cut it off and shut it down, and trust in the miracle of the marketplace to fix everything, as we've been told for 40 years.

If people really want health care, they'll pay whatever they have to, to get it. If they're not useless eaters and have already dutifully pulled themselves up by their bootstraps, they have a job that gives them the healthcare.

If not, bad choices bring bad results.

Are people dumb enough to think killing the ACA is going to lead to debt reduction? Did they watch how George W. Bush and Donald Trump operated? They’ll still spend the money. I would have issues with a true Ragu-style austerity candidate, but it would be based on something, a goal. Actual debt reduction would help us with the upcoming interest rate payment crunch the U.S. government is going to face in the near future. That’s a real, actual issue.

But that is not what’s going to happen.Trump is just going to take that money and hand it to someone like Elon Musk to paper over his awful business decisions and government contractors and guys who park trillions of dollars in banks for years while the national debt grows and grows and grows at about the same rate at which it did under Democrats, all while Americans lose healthcare coverage.

But the commercial said he’s cutting spending. All that now matters is what the commercial said.

Recent referenda votes prove Americans by and large like Dem policies....but they HATE Dems.

So much so that they'll just shrug their shoulders at RFKJ and Gaetz and Hegseth getting top cabinet posts because they HATED Biden so f*cking much for inflation.

Imagine being that politically blinkered so as to give Trump a wide enough road to return to the WH without using violence. This time.

Which of course the eggmen and eggwomen conveniently forgot.

I think my thoughts on Dollar General were the last straw for him.

    That’s a real sentence I just typed.

Really my goal has always been to get banned and never have to think about a message board again. But he pulled the incredible move of abdication and left me here in hell. It was an amazing move, a baseline spin that left me just watching him dunk on me. I have just tip my hat.
