We should have never expected anything different. Paul didn’t even try to knock him out, he carried him to the finish. Best result, so predictable.

Watching Tyson was sort of like watching Patrick Ewing as a player at Georgetown compared to watching Patrick Ewing as head coach at Georgetown. You were hoping he'd regain that magic and greatness but he never came close.

I think Tyson’s prematch slap was his best contact of the week.

Just seeing highlights, but, well, Tyson looked 58. Only the most foolhardy probably expected the Tyson of old.

I turned it off after Taylor/Serrano. There’s something profoundly wrong with this world when a glorified club fighter like Paul can command tens of millions of dollars.
Anyone can watch comparably talented fighters for a fraction of the price of tickets in the arena he’s fighting at a local armory or function hall.

Jake Paul has mastered the manly art of boxing paydays pioneered by Floyd Mayweather. Step 1. Create a persona that causes millions of people want to see you get your block knocked off. Step 2: Pnly fight oppoents where there's no danger of that happening. I predict his nect fight will be against animatronic Jack Dempsey.

Roy Jones was the voice of reason on this (and by far the best part of the broadcast team) when he said you're always going to get fighters butting heads when a southpaw faces an orthodox fighter. Been happening since John L. Sullivan was the champ. Serrano's trainer cut a pretty good promo, totally cutting off his fighter during her post-fight interview.

The two fights before the main event were really good. (I had Serrano winning and thought a draw wasn't a bad verdict in the Barrios fight.) Tyson - Paul wasn't even a glorified sparring session. I had Paul pitching a shutout, first round was close but the on air scoring guy, whoever he was, who gave Tyson the second must have been seeing something I wasn't.

Eh, I think Tyson tried in the beginning, saw that he had nothing left, and tried to make sure he wouldn’t get hurt. And I think once Paul saw that Tyson wasn’t going to be a threat, he didn’t see a need in killing a 58-year-old guy and was content to just pile up points.

When sports has become more about marketing - whether Paul or Bronny - than about actual skill, I'm done.

I’m very glad I gave up on Netflix before the Tyson exhibition and went to bed.

Boxing has been about marketing since forever. Remember when Ali fought some Japanese wrestlet? Go back further and there's the Great White Hope search to beat6 Jack Johnson. Jack Dempsey was saturation marketed to a point Jake Paul could only envy. Sad but true, if a fighter only draws in real fight fans, he is a broke fighter.
